Find new educational experiences amidst the rolling Texas hills of Fossil Rim. We offer a variety of programs and activities for students and youth groups of all ages. And, when you take one of our hands-on workshops for teachers, your classes will reap the rewards for years to come. Even if you can't visit us here, we'll bring the wilderness to you, through our popular Community Outreach program.

The Weather Workshop Use thermometers, barometers, rain gauges, ananometers (wind speed), and psychrometers (relative humidity). You will learn how to measure wind speed, how to track weather patterns, how to determine what kind of weather is coming from cloud shapes, and use hints from nature to make local predictions.

Fossil Rim—to go
Outreach programs are an important part of the education department's work. It gives us the chance to share the Fossil Rim experience with groups who can't make the trip out here.

If you're interested in arthropods, wolves, cheetahs, or in the techniques used to study wildlife, we can offer hands-on learning experiences in your location.
