Keeping it Wild!
Volunteer at Fossil Rim

Fossil Rim volunteers and docents receive many fringe benefits: spectacular scenery, animal encounters, great people!

But they also provide an important service: They educate visitors about wildlife conservation issues.

Increasing public awareness about endangered and threatened species is part of our mission. Our volunteers and docents play an important role in getting the word out.

We consider our volunteers and docents very special people! Every year, we honor them at an annual Awards Luncheon.

Volunteer Training

Volunteers at Fossil Rim are crucial to our organization. Many of our prized volunteers train to give tours of our facilities. Others assist in our Children’s Animal Center while some do office work or assist with special events. Anyone who just wants to paint or build can also find an enjoyable experience while making a difference for wildlife.

Regular Volunteer training is scheduled at least 6 times per year. Please call for dates 254-898-4211

New volunteer training will be scheduled as needed. For information please contact The Volunteer Coordinator via e-mail.

Requirements

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All volunteers attend a training program, contribute at least 50 hours of service per year and attend at least three of the six annual meetings.
